Having previously experienced strong returns from football sponsorship in the mid-2010s, iFOREX Europe knew the power of sport to drive brand impact. In the lead up to the 2025/26 season and its milestone IPO, the company set its sights on a football-focused sponsorship strategy designed to enhance European brand awareness and solidify its premium positioning during this pivotal moment in its growth trajectory.

The Playmaker Difference

With a long-standing relationship and a deep understanding of iFOREX Europe’s ambitions for a late-2025 IPO on the London Stock Exchange, Playmaker crafted a strategic plan to build consistent, pan-European brand visibility well ahead of the launch. This began with a high-profile partnership as the Official Online Trading Partner of PSV Eindhoven for the 2024/25 season, including prominent iFOREX Europe branding on the team’s Champions League walk-out jackets.

Following a successful first season, featuring unforgettable Champions League nights against European giants PSG, Liverpool and Juventus, Playmaker worked with iFOREX Europe to strategically expand their European football sponsorship portfolio, focusing on local markets of specific interest. After an analysis of available inventory across key regions, as well as active football sponsorship strategies within the online trading sector, we helped iFOREX Europe to develop a campaign focused on local markets of interest, as sleeve sponsor of Polish champions Lech Poznan and back-of-shirt sponsor of Hungarian title winners Ferencvarosi TC.

Building on this, the strategy established a powerful ‘champions’ narrative, carving a niche position within Europe’s trading landscape while reinforcing the brand’s premium positioning and long-standing credibility.

The Impact

The multi-club partnership enabled iFOREX Europe to significantly strengthen its brand marketing platform in the Netherlands, Poland and Hungary - cited ‘high-priority markets’ in Europe. With kit branding across all three teams, the strategy fostered strong brand recognition, aligning iFOREX Europe with a trio of domestic league champions as a means to reinforce its premium brand positioning and drive association between the iFOREX Europe brand and values of excellence, credibility and success.
