Challenge
iFOREX Europe was approaching a landmark IPO on the London Stock Exchange — a defining moment in the company's growth journey. With the business preparing to enter the public markets, the brand needed to increase visibility and strengthen its premium positioning across a defined group of priority European markets.
The challenge was to create a high-impact sponsorship platform capable of delivering consistent, credible visibility across Europe, while reinforcing the ambition, performance and success associated with the iFOREX Europe brand.

Insight
The online trading category had become increasingly competitive in sports sponsorship. Brands invest over $200m annually, with global partnerships with leading teams and athlete ambassadors serving as the most popular strategy.
For iFOREX Europe, however, a conventional global strategy would create significant inefficiency. Its commercial priorities were concentrated around a defined group of European markets, meaning a global rights package would inevitably deliver substantial exposure in markets with limited strategic relevance.
The opportunity was not to go bigger, but smarter.
Playmaker identified that a portfolio of market-specific partnerships with leading local sporting properties could deliver greater relevance, stronger brand association and more efficient market coverage than a single global investment.

Approach
Playmaker developed a multi-market, multi-club strategy, positioning iFOREX Europe alongside the champions of its priority European markets.
Rather than selecting properties purely for their global profile, we identified clubs that combined local dominance, European relevance and strong alignment with iFOREX Europe's target territories.
The result was a portfolio built around three of Europe's most successful domestic clubs: PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Ferencvarosi TC (Hungary) and Lech Poznan (Poland).
The strategic idea was simple: partner with champions in the markets that matter most.
Each partnership was structured to maximise visibility within its respective market while collectively creating a coherent European brand platform. iFOREX Europe secured highly visible kit positions across all three clubs - Champions League walk-out jackets with PSV, back-of-shirt with Ferencvárosi and sleeve with Lech Poznań.
The portfolio also created a powerful common narrative around performance, discipline, ambition and winning, allowing iFOREX Europe to connect the mindset required to succeed in elite football with the mindset required to navigate global financial markets.

Impact
The strategy gave iFOREX Europe a scalable European football platform built around relevance rather than reach alone.
Across the Netherlands, Hungary and Poland, the brand established high-visibility associations with three domestic champions, creating a consistent "winning" narrative that could be adapted to each market while maintaining a unified European positioning.
The partnerships also extended iFOREX Europe's presence beyond domestic football. The PSV relationship provided exposure around the club's 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign, including headline European fixtures against Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Arsenal. PSV ultimately reached the Champions League Round of 16, where they faced Arsenal.
For iFOREX Europe, the result was more than a collection of sponsorship assets. It was a market-specific brand platform designed to build familiarity, credibility and premium association in the markets where the business had the greatest strategic interest.
Proof
The strategy proved its value by expanding from a single high-profile European partnership with PSV in 2023/24 to a targeted portfolio of market-leading clubs in 2024/25.
The partnerships gave iFOREX Europe premium, high-visibility assets in three distinct markets, while the performance of the clubs themselves strengthened the overarching brand narrative: PSV competing deep into the Champions League, Ferencvarosi securing a record-extending 36th Hungarian title and Lech Poznan lifting their ninth Polish Championship.
The result was a sponsorship strategy built not around buying the biggest audience, but around owning the right markets - turning three local partnerships into a coherent European brand platform.
